What you'll do
The work is bankruptcy practice converted into training material, split between making and checking.
On the making side, you draft sample motions, pleadings and court filings across routine and complex bankruptcy scenarios, write reasoned answers to hypotheticals, and contribute educational content and training datasets on bankruptcy practice.
On the checking side, you review and annotate bankruptcy documents with substantive commentary, and assess model-generated legal answers for accuracy, clarity and alignment with current US bankruptcy law.
The ad also asks you to point out nuances and emerging trends in the field, so practitioners who follow recent case law and rule changes have something extra to offer. Communication is both written and verbal.
Who fits
- A JD from an accredited US law school
- An active US licence and between 3 and 10+ years of recent, hands-on bankruptcy experience
- Direct work as an individual contributor on bankruptcy matters: filings, court appearances and advisory work
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Preferred extras: a clerkship (ideally for a bankruptcy or federal judge), law teaching or instructional writing, and law review or journal editing
No prior AI experience is required.
What it pays
$100–180/hour, micro1's published band. micro1's earlier Bankruptcy Attorney posting, now closed, paid $90–150/hour. This one pays more, requires US residence ("Remote, US-based only") where the earlier one only said Remote, has 45 openings rather than 48, and states the experience range as 3 to 10+ years instead of 3 to 15. The scope of work is otherwise the same. No hours or project length are published.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Drafting motions and pleadings uses the skills you bill for, rather than generic review
- A higher band than the earlier posting for the same work
- 45 openings with a high-demand badge
- Clerkship and teaching experience count in your favour
Less good:
- US-based only, which rules out US-licensed attorneys living abroad
- Two live postings for the same role at different pay, with no explanation of which applies to whom
- No hours, project duration or screening process published
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage
