What you'll do
Vietnamese makes a hard test for an AI that talks about mental health. The language has no neutral "you": a speaker picks a kinship term (anh, chị, em, cô, chú and others) that sets age and closeness before the sentence starts, so a supportive reply can land as warm, presumptuous or cold depending on one word. Stigma and family expectations shape what people will say aloud. Your job is to catch where the model gets this wrong and to write material that teaches it better.
The ad lists: analysing psychological case studies and documentation and giving feedback from professional experience; writing culturally sensitive scenarios and materials in Vietnamese and English for model training; evaluating AI-generated content for accuracy, ethics and alignment with good practice; and refining assessments so they stay faithful across the two languages. You document how you evaluate as you go and work with an interdisciplinary team. The customer is not named.
Who fits
micro1 frames these as preferred qualifications, though the title makes the doctorate the real bar:
- A PhD in Psychology, with experience in both clinical and academic settings
- Native or near-native Vietnamese and English, including technical psychological vocabulary in both
- Strong analytical thinking and a record of ethical decision-making
- Experience developing or evaluating case studies and psychological assessments
- The ability to carry nuanced psychological concepts between Vietnamese and English in writing and speech
- Comfort with remote collaboration and documentation tools
- Cultural sensitivity and adaptability in multicultural settings
No AI background is needed. Clinical psychology is still a young profession in Vietnam and doctoral-level clinicians are few, so in practice this points at university lecturers and researchers who also see clients, and at Vietnamese-speaking psychologists trained in the US, Australia, France or elsewhere. Unlike the psychiatrist listing, this ad does not require experience in Vietnamese clinical settings specifically.
How it compares
The sister Bilingual Vietnamese Psychiatrist listing pays the same $100–200/hour for psychiatrists with a medical degree and is weighted towards building clinical cases; this one leans towards reviewing AI output. Vietnamese is also on micro1's broader Bilingual Mental Health Expert listing, same band, which accepts either credential. micro1's Vietnamese Bilingual Expert pays $30–65/hour for speech rating, so the doctorate is what lifts the rate here.
What it pays
$100–200/hour, micro1's published band. Nothing in the ad explains placement within it, and it does not say whether pay is hourly or per task, the weekly hours or the project length.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Marked new and high demand, with 70 openings
- Several times the rate of general Vietnamese language work
- Draws on clinical and cultural judgement you already have
- Remote, with no country restriction on the ad
Less good:
- The PhD requirement excludes many practising Vietnamese psychologists
- A 2x spread with no stated basis for placement
- No hours, duration, pay structure or start date published
- Reviewing distressing case material over long sessions takes a toll
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage
