What you'll do
The work is the same template as micro1's other contract-redlining roles: you run simulated contract negotiations and redlining exercises, assess how an AI responds to the same contract scenarios, and write the objective frameworks and grading criteria used to score it. You also help product and research teams refine the data and guidelines behind AI contract review.
It is billed as part-time.
How this differs from the other Contract Attorney listing
micro1 has two live postings titled Contract Attorney. This one:
- Requires a JD from an ABA-accredited law school and active bar admission in at least one US jurisdiction. The other listing lists neither.
- Asks for three years focused on technology contracts without requiring them to be in-house, so firm-side tech transactions lawyers qualify.
- Has double the openings (100 against 50) and a wider band ($80–130 against $85–105).
- Drops the preference for M&A or private equity fund formation experience.
If you are a US-barred lawyer who negotiated tech contracts at a firm, this is the one that fits you.
Who qualifies
- JD from an ABA-accredited school
- Active bar admission in at least one US jurisdiction
- At least three years focused on technology contracts, especially MSAs, NDAs and DPAs
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and attention to detail
- The ability to turn legal expertise into feedback AI systems can use
- Interest in law and technology; experience in cross-disciplinary teams
Preferred: prior exposure to AI, legal tech or training initiatives.
No residency rule is stated; the US bar admission is a credential and says nothing about where you live.
What it pays
$80–130/hour. The floor is the lowest of micro1's contract-redlining listings, the ceiling among the highest, and nothing is published on how you are placed. No compensation structure is stated.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Firm-side or in-house experience both count
- 100 openings, marked high demand
- A $130 ceiling
- Part-time by design
Less good:
- A $50-wide band with an $80 floor and no stated placement basis
- Bar admission and an ABA JD narrow the field compared with the sibling
- No pay structure, hours or duration published
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, no notice period, your own tax to manage
About this listing
Read on micro1's jobs portal on 24 September 2026, where it showed as posted about a month earlier. The title is micro1's "Contract Attorney"; we added "(US Bar Admission)" to tell it apart from its sibling. The band, openings and requirements are its published text. See micro1.
