What you'll do

You make and take phone calls for other people. Working shift by shift, you call businesses and service providers across the United States to book reservations, schedule appointments and confirm details with vendors, navigating phone trees and hold queues to reach the right person, then documenting the outcome of every call.

The volume is high and the calls are short and consecutive, so the job rewards the same things as good concierge or virtual-assistant work: sounding natural to a US listener, improvising when the person on the line goes off script, and staying discreet with personal information. micro1 frames it as AI training; the ad does not describe the AI component in detail, but work like this typically supplies the human side of the calls that phone agents are being built to handle.

Where you can work from

The listing is LATAM remote and names Mexico, Central America, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Chile and Brazil. We have mapped "Central America" to Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama; if you are in one of those, confirm with micro1 that your country is covered.

Who fits

All listed as preferred:

  • Executive assistance, virtual assistance, concierge or phone-based customer support experience
  • Fluent, neutral, clear spoken English, with confident improvisation on live calls with US businesses
  • Comfort with outbound and cold calls and automated phone systems
  • A reliable high-speed connection, a quiet workspace and a good wired or USB headset
  • Hospitality, restaurant or travel experience; negotiation or escalation experience is a plus
  • Working autonomously through many consecutive tasks

What it pays

$18–28/hour, and unusually for micro1 the structure is stated: you are paid for scheduled, available hours, not per call completed. That removes the throughput risk that per-task listings carry, in exchange for strict availability.

The commitment is also spelled out: an initial 4-week engagement of four 5-hour shifts a week, up to 20 hours. You must be fully active and responsive for the whole of every shift, and genuine weekend availability is required for part of the team.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Paid for scheduled time rather than per call
  • Clear hours and a defined initial term
  • 49 openings
  • No degree or AI experience needed
  • A strong rate relative to many LATAM call-centre roles

Less good:

  • A modest band for live, improvised calls in a second language
  • Shift-based and strict: no drifting in and out
  • Only four weeks guaranteed; nothing on renewal
  • Weekend shifts required for some of the team
  • You supply the headset, connection and quiet room
  • Fast start: roles fill within about 48 hours and first shifts begin 24–48 hours after onboarding
  • Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage
