What you'll do
The task is the same chart verification micro1 is running across its hospitalist listings this month: read inpatient medical records (raw FHIR data and clinical notes), decide whether each clinical claim is supported by the record, and flag what is missing, incorrect or inconsistent. The documents are HPI, PMH, assessments and plans. You apply a written guideline consistently, give feedback that improves the models and the data, and report findings to the project team.
Where the family medicine version differs is in who it is looking for rather than in the task. Its internal medicine and pediatric siblings name specific error types (renal and hepatic dosing, weight-based dosing). This one does not, and instead says outright that family medicine's cross-population training is especially valuable. Read that as a project whose records span ages and services, where a reviewer comfortable with a geriatric admission one hour and a newborn the next is the useful one.
Who fits
- MD or DO, board certified in family medicine (with a hospital medicine focus or certification also accepted)
- At least five years of hospitalist experience
- Inpatient or hospitalist work within the last two years
- A firm grasp of admission, progress, transition and discharge documentation
- Comfort reading raw medical record data
- Chart review, CDI, utilization review or coding/QA experience is a plus
- A broad patient mix (adult medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, obstetric or newborn care) is a plus
What it pays
$80–125/hour as published, but pay is output-based: you are paid per task that meets the project specification, and there is a weekly minimum submission requirement the ad does not quantify. Same band as the internal medicine and pediatric hospitalist listings.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Fifty openings, flagged new and high demand
- Family physicians who work as hospitalists are explicitly wanted rather than tolerated
- Broad, mixed-population experience is an advantage here
- Remote, with no country restriction stated
Less good:
- Per-task pay, so the hourly figure is not guaranteed
- Unpublished weekly minimum
- The five-year hospitalist bar rules out family physicians whose inpatient work was occasional
- No duration or start date stated
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage
