What you'll do
This is the outpatient counterpart to micro1's hospitalist chart-review projects, and the work is broader. You annotate and review primary care records (office visit notes, assessments and plans, referrals, lab and imaging results, care coordination documentation) for accuracy, clinical soundness and completeness. You also evaluate what an AI model has produced, judging it for clinical accuracy, safety and appropriateness across acute, chronic and preventive care, in patients from children to the elderly.
The rest is guideline work: applying evidence-based standards of care to validate and enrich datasets, raising ambiguities with the project team in writing and by voice, and feeding back on edge cases so the guidelines improve. The verbal communication requirement is worth noting; many annotation projects are purely written.
A family physician's breadth is exactly what this asks for. If your practice has narrowed (sports medicine only, or urgent care only), the "broad clinical exposure" line is the one to weigh before applying.
Who fits
- An active MD, ideally board certified in family medicine
- Based in the United States and licensed to practise there
- Hands-on primary care experience in clinics, community practices or health systems
- Broad exposure across common acute and chronic conditions, preventive care and age groups
- Clear written and spoken communication
- Prior annotation or clinical review experience is a plus, not a requirement
The ad says MD specifically and does not mention DOs; if you hold a DO, ask before assuming you qualify.
What it pays
$100–120/hour, published both on the card and in the ad body. No compensation structure, weekly hours or project length is given, so whether the rate is for time or per task is not stated. For comparison, it sits on the same band as micro1's Hospitalist Physician ($100–120/hr) listing, but draws on outpatient rather than inpatient practice.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Outpatient experience counts, which most physician AI-training listings this month do not want
- No AI experience required
- A firm, narrow band rather than a wide range
- The task mix (annotation plus model evaluation) is more varied than straight chart verification
Less good:
- US residence and a US licence are both required
- Only ten openings, against fifty on the hospitalist listings
- MD named specifically, DO eligibility unclear
- No hours, duration or pay structure published
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage
