Imagery Analyst (AI/ML Training Data, $30-60/hr)
micro1: pay and who it accepts · Posted
What you'll do
A model has already drawn boxes around objects in still images from drone and maritime sensors. You check each box, fix the ones that are off, and label the objects it missed, following the project guidelines. Finished images are delivered inside a secure Navy environment. As the project grows the work is expected to move from stills to video frames.
Ambiguous cases are not to be guessed at: the ad asks you to document them and raise guideline questions in writing. The work is remote and contract-based, part-time or full-time.
What you need
- Based in the US (the ad lists the role as remote, U.S.-based)
- Attention to detail on repetitive work where accuracy matters
- Comfort with dedicated labeling software and willingness to learn new tools
- Clear written and spoken communication for reporting guideline questions
Nice to have
- US citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC), or willingness to go through sponsorship (listed as preferred)
- Experience with data labeling or bounding box annotation
- Familiarity with aerial, maritime or sensor imagery, especially daylight and thermal
- A record in high-volume, quality-controlled annotation (robotics or autonomous systems labeling is a plus)
No prior AI experience is required.
What it pays
micro1 publishes $30–60/hour. The ad also says compensation is based on each image submission, so the hourly band reads as an equivalent of a per-image rate. Your real hourly figure depends on how fast you work while staying accurate. Ask for the per-image rate and the expected throughput before committing.
Worth knowing
Good:
- A wide band with a high ceiling for fast, accurate annotators
- Part-time or full-time, your choice
- 20 openings, and the listing carries micro1's "High demand" badge
- A planned move into video frame annotation
Less good:
- Pay depends on output rather than hours
- US only, and the secure Navy environment makes CAC eligibility likely to matter
- Repetitive, volume-driven work
- The ad does not state weekly hours or project length
How it differs from the sibling listing
micro1 has also posted a second imagery ad for the same drone and maritime project, Imagery Analyst: Drone & Maritime, which lists the same $30–60/hour band but states that an active CAC is needed. This ad lists CAC eligibility or sponsorship as preferred. An earlier listing for the project showed $20–60/hour.
