Imagery Analyst: Drone & Maritime

micro1: pay and who it accepts · Posted

What you'll do

You review object labels that a machine generated on still drone and maritime imagery, fix the wrong ones, and add the ones it missed. The ad calls the work precise and repetitive, and it is done inside a secure Navy environment with the tools provided. Ambiguous cases go to the team rather than being guessed at, and the project is expected to expand into video frame annotation.

What you need

  • US citizenship
  • An active DoD Common Access Card (CAC); the ad says that without one this project is not a fit
  • Patience and accuracy on repetitive work across long sessions
  • Willingness to learn new labeling software
  • Clear written and spoken communication

Nice to have

  • Experience with data labeling or bounding box annotation
  • Familiarity with aerial, maritime, satellite or thermal imagery

No AI experience is needed.

What it pays

micro1 lists $30–60 for the role and says you are paid per submitted image, so treat the band as an hourly equivalent. Speed at a steady accuracy level decides where you land in it. The ad gives no weekly hours; it describes steady throughput with you setting your own pace, part-time or full-time.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • You set your own pace and schedule
  • Remote work with a clearly defined task
  • 20 openings, flagged "High demand" on micro1's board
  • The ad notes micro1 runs other annotation projects without a CAC requirement

Less good:

  • Only active CAC holders who are US citizens qualify; this is a hard requirement here
  • Per-image pay means the hourly outcome varies
  • Repetitive work in a restricted environment
  • The ad does not give a project length

How it differs from the sibling listing

micro1 has also posted Imagery Analyst (AI/ML Training Data, $30-60/hr) for the same project. That ad lists CAC eligibility or sponsorship as preferred; this one requires an active CAC.
