What you'll do

This is the psychiatry side of micro1's Tagalog mental health work. You develop and evaluate complex psychiatric case studies that give AI models realistic, culturally specific scenarios, and you annotate psychological assessments with the judgement of someone who has treated patients in Tagalog-speaking clinical settings.

A good share of the output is writing: precise analyses and documentation in both Tagalog and English, where clinical accuracy and cultural accuracy both have to survive the language switch. The ad also asks for help building bilingual communication frameworks for psychiatric information, which suggests setting conventions for how symptoms, diagnoses and treatment are expressed across the two languages, not only reviewing single responses.

Two parts are specific to this role. You critique sensitive case content with confidentiality and ethics in mind, and you give feedback on the methods the AI systems themselves use to evaluate mental health content. You also share findings with the AI project teams.

Who fits

The ad lists these as preferred qualifications:

  • A medical degree (MD, MBBS or equivalent), a completed psychiatry residency and a valid medical licence
  • Native Tagalog and advanced English, written and spoken
  • Extensive experience in psychiatric assessment, treatment planning and case documentation within Tagalog clinical settings
  • Cultural sensitivity and ethical reasoning on complex mental health scenarios
  • A background in developing teaching materials or case studies for education or research
  • Interdisciplinary project experience, ideally touching technology, research or digital health
  • Familiarity with both Western and Tagalog psychiatric frameworks

No AI experience is needed. The ad does not say which jurisdiction's licence counts, so a psychiatrist licensed outside the Philippines should check before applying.

What it pays

$100–200/hour, micro1's published band, and exactly the same band as the psychologist listing for Tagalog speakers. The ad does not say what decides placement within it, or whether the rate buys time or is a per-task equivalent.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • A strong hourly rate for work that draws on real clinical experience
  • 70 openings
  • Teaching or case-writing experience counts for something here, which suits psychiatrists who supervise residents or write exam material
  • Remote with no country restriction, so Filipino psychiatrists working abroad can apply too

Less good:

  • The credential bar is the highest in micro1's mental health set: a medical degree, residency and a licence, for the same $100–200 band that a psychology PhD earns
  • A 2x spread with no published basis for placement
  • No hours, duration or start date stated
  • Working through difficult psychiatric scenarios can be draining
  • The skills list on the listing card includes "Bilingual in japanese", which matches nothing in the description and looks like a leftover from another posting; the text itself asks only for Tagalog and English
  • Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage

About this listing

Posted by micro1 on its own jobs portal on 29 September 2026 and marked new. The $100–200/hour band, the 70 openings, the scope of work and the qualifications above are micro1's published text. The customer is not named, and no pay structure, weekly hours or project length is published. micro1 runs the same work for psychologists as Tagalog Speaking Psychologist (PhD), with a PhD in place of the medical credentials, and it previously advertised both professions together as the Bilingual Mental Health Expert listing.
