What you'll do

This is a verification job. Each task is a short video with audio and an AI-generated description of it. You review both the picture and the sound, check whether the description is accurate and follows the guidelines, and write clear, brief feedback wherever it is wrong, vague or uncertain.

The rest is consistency work: applying the same judgment across many similar clips, flagging content that does not meet the standard or needs a ruling from project leads, and suggesting improvements to the annotation and QA process. Data confidentiality is part of the brief, so expect an NDA-style agreement.

How this differs from the other listing

micro1 has another listing under the same title, Video Annotation Specialist, at $50–90/hour. That one is about tagging robotic-arm footage. This one covers general video and audio clips, checks AI-written descriptions rather than tagging from scratch, and pays $8–10/hour. They are different projects; the title here adds "(Video and Audio Clips)" only to tell them apart.

Who fits

  • Experience in data annotation, labelling or content moderation, ideally with video or audio
  • Strong written and spoken English for detailed feedback
  • Attention to detail and steady, objective judgment across repetitive tasks
  • Familiarity with generalist AI training, content review or guideline-based evaluation is an advantage
  • Reliability working alone and remotely
  • Quick to pick up new tools, protocols and quality standards

No degree and no years floor are stated.

What it pays

$8–10/hour, micro1's published band and the lowest in this set of creative and media listings. The band is narrow, so what you see is close to what you get. No compensation structure is stated. At this rate the listing is best seen as an entry point into annotation work, or as supplementary income in lower-cost countries.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • 1,000 openings, so it is one of the more accessible annotation listings
  • Experience is preferred rather than strictly required
  • A narrow, knowable band
  • No country restriction named on the ad
  • Useful as a first annotation credential

Less good:

  • $8–10 is very low for US or Western European contributors
  • Repetitive by design; the ad says as much
  • Content moderation experience is mentioned, which suggests some clips may be unpleasant; ask before you start
  • No hours or project length published
  • Contractor engagement: no benefits, no notice period, your own tax to manage
