What you'll do

This is an evaluation job where the test data is your own life. Turing is staffing a Portuguese-language review of a new Gemini personalization feature, which draws on your past Gemini chats, Gmail, Google Search and YouTube activity. You write starting prompts (usually one to five turns) that only make sense if the model knows something about you, then judge whether it used that knowledge well.

Judging has three parts: grounding (is every claim about you backed by evidence rather than a bad inference or a hallucination), integration (is your data woven in naturally, or does the model "overnarrate" it), and helpfulness. You also rank two responses side by side, write a rationale that cites specific turn numbers, pull "Debug Info" to confirm which data sources were used, and delete your test conversations afterwards so they do not pollute your chat history.

Who fits

  • Reads and writes Portuguese at a high level; it is the focus language of the project
  • Willing to use your primary personal Google account, not a test account, with personal data sources switched on
  • Careful with nuance: able to spot forced connections, poor inferences and subtle differences in naturalness
  • Clear written rationales and constructive annotation feedback
  • A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (the ad lists policy, law, ethics, linguistics, journalism, computer science); data annotation, AI quality evaluation or content moderation experience is strongly preferred
  • A desktop or laptop and a good connection

What it pays

$15/hour, the rate the ad states for this project. Turing's Dutch and Polish versions of the same role pay $20/hour but run for one month, so the Portuguese role trades a lower rate for a three-month engagement.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • A three-month engagement, longer than the one-month siblings
  • Flexible volume: at least 4 hours a day, up to 40 hours a week
  • Interesting, low-prep work if you already use Google services heavily

Less good:

  • The work needs your real emails, searches and viewing history, so think about privacy before applying
  • The ad asks for full-time availability in your local time zone and 4 hours of overlap with PST, because it is staffing a 24-hour global team
  • The lowest rate among the language versions
  • Contractor status, so no benefits

How hiring works

Shortlisted candidates get a Job Interest Form, then an assessment that must be finished within 24 hours, then a conversation about pre-onboarding requirements.
