What you'll do

This listing is the only music tool in Mercor's current "Application Users" listings. It is written for music producers, beatmakers, audio engineers and sound designers who use FL Studio, the digital audio workstation many still call FruityLoops (Mercor's ad spells it "FruitLoops Studio"), for sequencing, production and mixing.

The ad sets requirements and no tasks. You need the DAW installed on your own Windows PC, ready to open today, and a display able to capture high-resolution screenshots. Nothing is said about the client, the work or the hours. Because the requirement is about screen captures rather than audio, the work is most plausibly visual: demonstrating how you navigate the Channel Rack, Piano Roll, Playlist and Mixer, likely to train AI agents that operate creative software. That is our inference; confirm it at screening.

If you already build full tracks in FL Studio, routing channels to the mixer and automating plugins without hesitation, you are the intended profile.

Who fits

  • FL Studio installed on your own Windows PC; Mercor supplies no licence, VM or hardware
  • Real production experience in the DAW
  • Screenshots above 2.5 megapixels from a single high-resolution monitor (1440p-class at 16:9, 1600p at 16:10, a 3440×1440 ultrawide and so on) or two 1080p-plus monitors captured as one image

No degree, releases, years or country requirement is stated.

What it pays

$30–40 per hour, the Generalist band shared with the video, image and 3D listings in this family. For producers used to irregular beat sales or session fees, an hourly rate paid weekly is a different kind of income.

Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise, based on services rendered.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • A paid use for DAW fluency that does not depend on selling music
  • FL Studio licences are a one-time purchase with lifetime updates, so many producers already own one
  • Marked as a new opportunity when we read it
  • Remote, self-scheduled, weekly pay published

Less good:

  • Lowest pay tier in the family
  • No hires shown yet, so volume is unknown
  • Tasks, hours and duration are not described; projects can be extended, shortened or ended early
  • H-1B and STEM OPT candidates excluded; independent contractor terms
