What you'll do
The material here is nursing flowsheets, specifically pediatric inpatient ones. You review AI-generated clinical outputs derived from flowsheet documentation, check them for accuracy, completeness and adherence to current documentation standards, and annotate and structure pediatric nursing assessment data for training datasets.
Beyond that the ad lists expert feedback on assessments and documentation practice, spotting gaps, inconsistencies or risks in AI responses, asking questions where annotation guidance is unclear and helping refine it, working with technical teams, and contributing to clinical benchmarks.
Pediatric flowsheets are a good test of whether a model understands context. Normal vital sign ranges, pain scales and developmental assessments all shift with age, so an output that is fine for a teenager can be wrong for an infant. That is the kind of judgment a bedside pediatric nurse brings without thinking about it, and it is what the ad means by translating bedside documentation practice into structured feedback.
Who fits
- An active RN licence, US, outside California
- Recent pediatric acute care inpatient bedside experience, ideally on a non-procedural unit, within the past 10 years. Recent documentation experience counts for more than total years of nursing
- Comfortable performing and documenting comprehensive pediatric assessments
- Able to follow detailed annotation guidelines consistently
- Clear written communication and responsiveness to feedback
- Works independently and meets deadlines
Preferred: Epic experience (the ad notes it matches many workflows), comfort with new annotation tools, efficient use of transcripts and AI-assisted tools while still verifying outputs, chart review for QI, UR, CDI or informatics, and prior annotation, chart abstraction or healthcare AI work.
The California exclusion applies to the licence and is not explained. If you live in California but hold another state's licence, the ad does not say how that is treated; ask before investing time in the application.
What it pays
$55–65 per hour. The ad does not state a weekly hours minimum. Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise, and you are engaged as an independent contractor. Mercor's broader RN Annotators listing pays the same band for general inpatient experience, with a 10-hour weekly minimum.
Worth knowing
Good:
- The 10-year bedside window means nurses who have moved into education, informatics or management still qualify
- Recency of documentation is valued over years served
- Pediatrics is a niche where general-purpose annotators cannot substitute for you
- No weekly minimum published, and fully remote
Less good:
- A California RN licence does not qualify
- No hours, duration or project size published
- The AI client is not named
- H-1B and STEM OPT candidates cannot be supported
- Contractor engagement; projects can be extended, shortened or ended early
About this listing
Posted by Mercor as an hourly remote contract restricted to the United States, confirmed open on 24 September 2026. The pay band, the California exclusion and the 10-year bedside window are the ad's own. See Mercor.
