What you'll do

The title suggests a labelling job, but the role is closer to a part-time clinical member of a product team. The ad describes ongoing support for developing and evaluating new clinical AI products, which is why it stresses continuity and a reliable weekly commitment.

The work covers:

  • Annotation, clinical review and model evaluation
  • Investigating user feedback, meaning you look into reports of the product getting something wrong and work out why
  • Taxonomy and guideline development, plus other clinical product work as needs change
  • Working directly with engineers, PMs, clinical scientists and other clinicians

The personality traits the ad lists are unusually specific and describe the job well: take an ambiguous clinical question, investigate it, come back with a recommendation; speak up when something looks wrong; explain the rationale behind every decision; stay comfortable while processes change quickly.

Who fits

  • US-based, or able to practise in the US
  • Recent inpatient bedside RN experience
  • Broad clinical exposure: comfortable with documentation across different inpatient populations, not narrowly specialised
  • High ownership and self-direction
  • Rigorous, consistent clinical logic
  • Curious about how the product and model work
  • Strong communication and collaboration
  • At least 10 hours a week, reliably

Preferred: previous annotation work with positive reviews, and academic or large health system experience (the ad's example is a large teaching hospital, where patients, workflows and documentation are more complex).

A med-surg, step-down or float pool nurse from a teaching hospital is the profile this reads as written for. A highly specialised nurse may do better on a targeted listing such as Pediatric Inpatient Nurses.

What it pays

$55–65 per hour, the same band as the pediatric listing. At the 10-hour minimum that is $550–650 a week. Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise, and you are engaged as an independent contractor.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Varied work that goes beyond annotation into product investigation and guideline design
  • Direct contact with engineers and clinical scientists
  • Framed as ongoing, with continuity valued
  • Generalist inpatient experience is an asset rather than a gap

Less good:

  • 10 hours a week, every week, is expected; this is not dip-in work
  • "Recent" bedside experience is not defined
  • The product and client are not named
  • H-1B and STEM OPT candidates cannot be supported
  • Contractor engagement; projects can be extended, shortened or ended early
