What you'll do
If you have sat in-house with a playbook open next to a counterparty's paper, you already know this work. You review and redline commercial agreements (MSAs, NDAs, DPAs and similar) in line with established playbooks and policies, identify the issues in each draft, and decide which company position applies and what fallback is acceptable.
What turns it into AI training is the written rationale. For every redline you draft a clear explanation of why you made it. The model learns from the reasoning more than from the markup, so terse "per playbook" notes will not carry the work.
The rest of the scope is about consistency: working with the project team so standards and interpretations stay aligned across reviewers, independently and against deadlines.
Who fits
Listed as preferred:
- A JD from an accredited law school and active bar admission in a US jurisdiction
- At least four years of transactional practice, at a firm or in-house, focused on contract drafting, review and negotiation
- Deep familiarity with commonly negotiated provisions: limitation of liability, indemnification, confidentiality, data protection
- Clear, actionable written analysis
- Sound judgment and accuracy in contract interpretation
- Technology transactions expertise, described as "a strong plus"
Location
The ad says Remote (US Based), so this one is limited to the United States. That is a real difference from micro1's otherwise identical Attorney listing, which states no residency rule.
What it pays
$90–110/hour. A $20 band is narrow, so what you are quoted should be close to what you are offered. No compensation structure is published, so ask whether this is time-based or a per-task equivalent.
Worth knowing
Good:
- A tight, predictable band
- Firm or in-house experience both count
- The task is contract practice you will recognise from your own work
- 50 openings, marked high demand
Less good:
- "Confidential project": no customer, product or duration named
- Four years plus a US bar admission is a solid bar for this rate
- "Deadline-driven" with no volume or hours stated
- No pay structure published
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, no notice period, your own tax to manage
About this listing
Read on micro1's jobs portal on 24 September 2026, where it showed as posted nine days earlier. The band, the 50 openings, the four-year preference and the US-based location are its published text. micro1 also posts the same text under the titles "Contracts Attorney" and "Attorney"; we list this one and Attorney.
