What you'll do
A customer is building AI for nutrition and dietary wellness, and it needs a licensed practitioner's eye on what the model says. You review case-based scenarios and run dietary assessments on them, create and refine meal-planning templates in line with clinical guidelines, and check nutrition content for accuracy against current research. Much of the output is written explanation: why a recommendation is right or wrong for a given client, and how you would communicate it.
The difference from clinical work is the audience. You are counselling a model, not a patient, so the value lies in spelling out reasoning you would normally apply by habit, such as how a renal diet changes potassium targets or when a generic "eat more fibre" is bad advice. Collaboration with coordinators is asynchronous, by text and occasionally by voice, and you are asked to help improve the project's protocols and quality standards.
Who fits
- An active, unrestricted Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) licence
- Demonstrated nutrition counselling, clinical nutrition and dietary assessment experience
- Experience building individualised meal plans across populations and conditions
- Strong written and spoken communication
- Evidence-based practice and attention to detail
- Comfort working independently; telehealth or digital tool familiarity is a plus
No AI experience is needed. The listing's location is the United States.
What it pays
$50–100/hour, micro1's published band. The ad does not say what places you within it, how many hours are available, or whether pay is hourly or per task.
Worth knowing
Good:
- The RD credential does the work; no years-of-experience minimum is stated
- Asynchronous and remote, so it fits around clinic hours
- The ceiling is well above typical US dietitian hourly pay
Less good:
- US-only, and the licence must be current
- Ten openings, so competition is likely
- No hours, duration or pay mechanics published
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, and it will not count toward clinical hours
- The customer and the end product are not named, so you cannot see how your advice will be used
