Skills
  • chart interpretation
  • biostatistics
  • survival analysis
  • clinical trials
  • question design
  • quantitative reasoning

What you'll do

This is the clinical version of micro1's chart-reasoning benchmark work. The charts are those of clinical trials and epidemiology: Kaplan-Meier curves, forest plots, ROC curves, hazard-ratio plots and similar. You write questions about them that need real reasoning, and answers that walk through it.

Per the ad, the work is:

  • Interpreting clinical and biostatistical charts with professional accuracy
  • Drafting objective, multi-step questions that need quantitative reasoning, not just reading off a value
  • Writing precise answers with step-by-step explanations covering calculations, statistical inference or clinical judgement
  • Getting units, scales, confidence intervals, p-values and annotations exactly right
  • Designing tasks around comparison, calculation, trend analysis and interpolation, with no subjective phrasing
  • Working reliably with the project team and folding in feedback

A good question here might ask for the median survival difference between two arms at a stated time point, or whether a subgroup in a forest plot crosses the line of no effect, rather than anything that turns on opinion. If you have journal-clubbed trial figures, you already do the underlying reasoning.

Who fits

  • A bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree (MD, MPH, PhD or equivalent) in medicine, epidemiology, biostatistics, public health or a close quantitative or clinical field
  • At least two years interpreting clinical trial data, survival analyses or epidemiological figures, professionally, academically or in research
  • Confident reading of axes, legends, scales, confidence intervals and statistical annotations in medical charts
  • Clear written and spoken English for clinical and biostatistical reasoning
  • Ideally, a second language relevant to medical or research practice
  • Experience in scientific publishing, assessment design, benchmark questions or clinical data annotation helps

Clinicians with research exposure and biostatisticians both fit; the ad asks for the charts to be read with clinical judgement, not only statistical correctness.

What it pays

$25–50/hour, micro1's published band, the same as the rest of its chart-analysis family. For MD- or PhD-level readers that is low; it makes most sense as flexible side work. No compensation structure, weekly hours or duration is stated.

Siblings

The same template runs for Data & Statistical, Financial & Operations and Chart & Data Visualization charts at the same band. This one differs in its chart types and in wanting a medical, public health or biostatistics background.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • 50 openings, marked high demand
  • A bachelor's in a relevant field can qualify alongside MDs and PhDs
  • Uses trial-reading skills clinicians and epidemiologists already have
  • No country restriction stated

Less good:

  • $25–50/hour is well below clinical or biostatistics consulting rates
  • A 2x band with no stated basis for placement
  • No pay structure, hours or duration published
  • Objective, multi-step clinical chart questions take longer to write than they look
  • Contractor engagement: no benefits, no notice period, your own tax to manage

About this listing

Posted by micro1 on its own jobs portal and read on 24 September 2026. micro1's title uses a dash, which we have replaced with a colon. The band, the 50 openings, the chart types and the qualifications are from the listing; the example questions are ours. See micro1.
