Accounting Expert (AI Training Waitlist)
Sovrano AI: pay and who it accepts · Posted
What you'll do
Applying here adds you to Sovrano's accounting expert network; it does not give you a project. After applying you take a short AI interview on your field (about 20 minutes, per the ad), and Sovrano gets in touch only when an accounting project matches your profile. Some applicants will never be contacted, and Sovrano says so.
When a project matches, the work is about whether a model's accounting holds up. A model can produce a tidy journal entry or a clean VAT summary and still get the treatment wrong, and catching that takes someone who has closed books and filed returns. Depending on the project you might write accounting tasks and model deliverables under one country's rules, act as a country reviewer checking other accountants' work, or grade AI answers on treatment, tax and statutory reporting. The errors you mark fall into treatment, calculation and presentation.
Each project's country, scope, hours and rate are sent to you in writing before you start, and reviewers check everything you submit. Only approved work is paid.
Who fits
- Hands-on accounting experience
- Fluent written English
- A reliable internet connection and a quiet place to work
- Willingness to take the AI interview, and to work without AI tools when a project rules them out
No degree or professional qualification is listed as required, which sets this apart from Sovrano's legal waitlist, where a law degree is the entry ticket. The skills list shows what Sovrano has in mind: financial accounting under IFRS or US GAAP, tax accounting, statutory reporting, audit, consolidation and Excel. Projects are set per country, so the countries whose rules you have actually applied are likely what a match turns on.
What it pays
Up to $150 an hour, a ceiling rather than a quoted rate; Sovrano sets the rate for each project and confirms it in writing first. The ad gives 8 to 15 hours a week once a project runs. Payment terms are not published on the listing.
When work starts
The weekly hours apply only once a project exists. The ad says you may hear from Sovrano soon, or only after a while.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Hands-on experience is the requirement; no formal qualification is asked for
- The 8 to 15 hour weekly range tells you roughly what a running project would take
- Country reviewer work suits accountants who know one jurisdiction's statutory rules in depth
- Applying commits you to nothing
Less good:
- A waitlist with no project attached and no guarantee Sovrano will call
- $150 is the upper limit, and per-project rates are not published
- Only approved work is paid
- Payment method and timing are not stated
About this listing

How to get hired
- Screening is the roughly 20-minute AI interview you take after applying; Sovrano's company page describes its assessment as testing domain knowledge and evaluation ability.
- Open your profile with the frameworks and countries you have worked under (for example, "IFRS and Spanish GAAP, statutory accounts and VAT returns for SMEs"), then the size of the entities and the work you signed off.
- Practise on a tricky entry from your own work, such as a lease, a revenue cut-off or a VAT edge case: write the correct treatment, then a wrong one a model might plausibly produce, and two sentences explaining the error. That is the shape of the review work.
- General advice on AI interviews is on our interview prep page.
