Legal Expert (AI Training Waitlist)

Sovrano AI: pay and who it accepts · Posted

What you'll do

This listing is a waitlist with no project attached. Applying puts you in Sovrano's legal expert network; you then take a short AI interview about your field (about 20 minutes, per the ad), and Sovrano contacts you only if a legal project fits your background. Timing depends on demand, and Sovrano says it will not contact everyone on the list.

When a project does come, the work is what practising lawyers would recognise: writing contract and case scenarios for a specific jurisdiction, writing the yes or no checklists a supervising lawyer would apply, reviewing other lawyers' work, and grading AI answers on legal research and drafting. The errors you mark are in reasoning, authority and jurisdiction. Models produce fluent legal prose easily; what Sovrano wants checked is whether the conclusion would survive a lawyer's signature, which means confirming that a cited authority says what the answer claims and applies where the question is set.

Scope, hours, jurisdiction and rate are set per project and sent in writing before you start. Reviewers check everything, and only approved work is paid.

Who fits

  • A law degree: JD, LLB, LLM or equivalent
  • Fluent written English
  • A reliable internet connection and a quiet place to work
  • Willingness to take the AI interview, and to work without AI tools when a project forbids them

The ad lists a professional degree, master's or PhD as the education level. Its skills cover contract drafting and review, regulatory compliance, corporate law, litigation and intellectual property, so both transactional lawyers and litigators have a route in. Because projects are scoped by jurisdiction, your bar admissions and practice areas are probably what decides a match.

What it pays

Up to $150 an hour. That figure is a ceiling: the rate is set per project and confirmed in writing before you start, and pay covers approved work. Payment terms (method, timing, contractor status) are not published on the listing, and no weekly hours are given.

If you want paid work now

This waitlist has no start date and no certain hours. Lawyers with EU regulatory experience who want paid work now can look at Legal Case Study Author (AI Training), which pays $500 per approved case and has immediate work for EU residents.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • One application and a 20-minute interview, with no obligation to accept any project you are offered
  • The ad gives up to $150 an hour
  • Drafting, review and grading work, so different kinds of legal practice fit
  • Open to applicants across North America, Europe and Turkey

Less good:

  • A waitlist rather than an open seat: no project, no start date, and Sovrano will not contact everyone
  • $150 is a maximum; the rate for any project is unknown until an offer arrives
  • Only approved work is paid
  • No weekly hours or payment terms are published

About this listing

Sovrano posted this waitlist on 27 October 2026, and we confirmed it was accepting applications in Sovrano's signed-in job list on 1 November 2026. The location is given as regions (North America, Europe and Turkey), not a list of countries. See Sovrano AI.

How to get hired

  • The screening is the AI interview about your field, about 20 minutes, taken after you apply. Sovrano's company page describes its assessment as covering domain knowledge and evaluation ability.
  • Put your jurisdictions and bar admissions first, then your practice areas. "Admitted in Spain and in England and Wales, commercial contracts" tells a reviewer more than a list of firms.
  • Before the interview, take an AI-generated answer to a legal question in your area and mark it as a supervising lawyer would: is the authority real, current and from the right jurisdiction, and does the conclusion follow from it? Be ready to explain your reasoning the same way.
  • Our interview prep page covers AI interview formats in general.
