How it works
Many Terac opportunities are paid research interviews, surveys and usability studies for market research companies, alongside AI training and evaluation work such as reviewing model outputs in your field. Terac's own pages describe three steps: create a profile describing your expertise, complete a short conversational AI assessment tailored to your background, and, if you fit, be matched to projects by the team. Terac states that no prior AI experience is required and that assessment responses are not sold or used to train customer AI models.
Each project is scoped with its payment terms defined upfront. Work runs in the browser; video sessions need a webcam and others need a microphone and stable internet.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Terac's opportunities page lists the rate or fee on each study before you apply
- Work is open across professions, from clinical and accounting reviews to software engineering and consumer research
- Terac says earnings are credited to a wallet once a submission is approved, with withdrawal available at any time
Less good:
- There is no general pay scale. Listed rates on Terac's opportunities page range from a few dollars an hour for simple tasks to well over $100 an hour for specialist reviews, and also include per-task and one-time fees
- Many studies target specific professions, locations or demographic groups, so open work may not match every profile
- Many projects require several years of professional experience or an advanced degree
- Registering does not guarantee a match to a project
About this page
Facts above come from terac.com, its opportunities page and its documentation, last checked 23 October 2026. Terac publishes no single typical rate, payout schedule or country list, so those grid fields are empty; the payment options shown come from its opportunities page. We could not verify how quickly matched experts receive their first project. Comparable platforms include Prolific for research studies and Mercor for expert AI work.
