AI training jobs for nurses: tasks, pay and which licences count

Overview · Today

AI training jobs for nurses are fewer and more specific than those for doctors. From the RN and nurse practitioner listings on this site: the documentation tasks involved, what each pays, why recent bedside experience matters more than seniority, and the licence and visa limits that rule people out.

What nurses are hired to do

AI training jobs for nurses are rarer than those for physicians, and narrower. Of the 92 healthcare listings on this site on 12 October 2026, four were written for registered nurses or nurse practitioners. All four are open to US-based clinicians only, and all pay at least $55 an hour. The rest of the healthcare board, from radiologists to medical coders, is in our medical and healthcare guide.

The work is about documentation. micro1's Registered Nurse listing has you annotate inpatient records (nursing notes, care plans, orders, lab results, discharge summaries) and judge AI output for clinical accuracy and safety. Mercor's Pediatric Inpatient Nurses listing checks AI output built from pediatric nursing flowsheets against current documentation standards. Its RN Annotators role reaches past annotation into looking at user feedback on clinical AI products, and it expects at least 10 hours every week. The fourth listing, a cardiology consultant role open to NPs, PAs and RNs, reviews patient charts to judge how likely ATTR cardiac amyloidosis is.

What it pays

ListingPlatformPay per hour
RN AnnotatorsMercor$55–65
Pediatric Inpatient Nurses (RN)Mercor$55–65
Registered Nursemicro1$60–70
Cardiology NP / PA / RN consultantMercor$80–120

The two Mercor RN listings state weekly payment through Stripe or Wise. micro1 pays twice a month: its payroll policy pays work done from the 1st to the 15th around the 20th, and the rest around the 5th of the following month. None of the four publishes total hours or a project length, and the RN listings describe contractor engagements without benefits.

Which credentials count

Recent bedside time matters more than seniority. All three RN listings ask for recent inpatient bedside experience. The pediatric listing sets the window at the past ten years and values recent documentation over total years served, so a nurse who has since moved into education or informatics can still qualify. You need to be able to practise as an RN in the US, and the pediatric listing does not accept a California licence. Teaching-hospital or large health system experience is preferred on the general RN listings, and Epic experience helps on the pediatric one. The cardiology role is the strictest: five years in cardiology plus one to three years in a heart failure or ATTR clinic.

Expect checks after you are matched. Mercor's background check policy covers identity, credential and criminal history verification, and a cleared check is reused for five years. The Mercor listings exclude H-1B and STEM OPT holders, and Mercor's H-1B page says it sponsors no visas of any kind. Internationally trained nurses working in the US on an H-1B will usually be shut out.

Nurses outside the US

There were no nurse-specific listings open outside the US on 12 October. The health and medicine filter is still worth checking for new ones, and for allied roles where a nursing background is relevant.

Before you apply

If you apply to micro1, our guide to micro1's nurse practitioner interview covers what it asks about patient assessment, chronic disease and health literacy. On a CV, name your unit type, your charting system and how recently you were at the bedside, because those are the things these listings filter on.
