What you'll do
Despite the "voice talent" title, the work the listing describes is linguistic stress-testing. You converse with an advanced language model on scenarios in your language and try to make it fail: honorifics, sentence structure, verb conjugation, word order, regional dialects, idiomatic expressions and script variations are the topics it names. Each time the model gets something wrong you capture a reproducible error trace, and you check its answers for factual accuracy and logical soundness.
There is a feedback side too. The listing says you will suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics, so the job rewards people who can explain why an answer is wrong, not only spot that it is.
For these six languages the topics bite differently. Hungarian's case system and vowel harmony, the agglutinative morphology of Tamil, Kannada and Telugu and their distinct scripts, Basque's ergative grammar, and Persian's formal and colloquial registers are all areas where models trained mostly on English tend to slip.
Read the listing closely
The listing text does not line up with itself. The title names six languages; some paragraphs name only Hungarian, Tamil, Kannada and Telugu, one adds Basque but not Persian, and one sentence refers to Korean speakers, which looks like text carried over from another listing. The title also says "voice talent", but the description mentions no recording or audio work. Before investing time in qualification, confirm on the listing which languages are really open and whether any voice recording is involved.
Who fits
- Deep command of one of the six languages, down to grammar, syntax, morphology, phonetics, semantics and pragmatics, which is how the listing puts it
- Knowledge of regional dialects and, for the Indian languages and Persian, script and register differences
- The patience to probe a model methodically and write up failures so someone else can reproduce them
The listing asks for "language specialists", which points to linguists, language teachers, translators and editors rather than casual speakers. It gives no years-of-experience bar and no country requirement.
What it pays
$17 an hour, the standard rate for Invisible's language and voice work. For specialist linguistic analysis in languages with few qualified experts on these platforms, that is on the low side.
The contract terms say payment is weekly via Stripe or Wise, and that Invisible cannot support H-1B or STEM OPT contractors.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Openings in languages that AI training work rarely covers, Basque and Kannada especially
- Analytical work that uses real linguistic expertise
- Remote, on your own schedule
Less good:
- $17 an hour for specialist-level language work
- An inconsistent listing: the language list and the "voice" framing do not match the description
- A resume upload (about 5 minutes) and an unpaid qualification step (about 30 minutes) before any paid work
- Posted about two months before we read it, so it may be filling
- No minimum amount of work; independent contractor terms with no benefits
About this listing
Read on the signed-in Meridial marketplace on 26 September 2026, posted about two months before we read it. The task description, language list, rate and contract terms are the listing's own; the notes on each language and on the listing's inconsistencies are ours. We corrected a stray comma in the title.
