Mobile Game Developer

Rex.Zone: pay and who it accepts · Posted

What you'll do

You work on mobile game features in Unity and C#, as both builder and judge. That includes designing, building and reviewing features, optimising functionality and performance across a range of devices and platforms, and evaluating AI-generated gameplay code and scene setups for correctness and quality. You write reference implementations with brief technical explanations, join brainstorming on new mechanics and features, and give structured written feedback on model output.

Where the general Game Developer listing accepts any major engine, this one is Unity and C# only and asks for expert-level proficiency plus a portfolio of completed mobile projects. The mobile angle (device range and performance) is the differentiator. Work is remote contract with calibration and review sessions.

Who fits

  • Expert-level proficiency with Unity and C#
  • A strong understanding of core game design principles and player experience
  • A portfolio of completed mobile game projects
  • Fluent written English

Preferred, not required: cross-platform build experience (iOS and Android), live-ops or analytics experience, and experience with 2D engines such as Cocos2d-x.

What it pays

The listing states $50–120 an hour, a little below the $125 ceiling of the general Game Developer listing despite the expert-level bar.

Rex.Zone's listing states USD $50–120 per hour, "adjusted by country of residence". The ad does not say how the adjustment works, so the top of the range may not apply everywhere, and where an offer lands in the range is not published. Payment terms are not published on the listing.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Open worldwide, with no country restriction stated
  • Mobile-specific Unity expertise is the whole qualification
  • Involves feature design and brainstorming, not only reviewing model output

Less good:

  • Pay is adjusted by country of residence and the ad does not explain how
  • Verified-users-only applications and an entry exam come before any paid work
  • The ad states no hours or volume, so how much work you get is unknown
  • Contractor agreement terms on ownership and licence are still marked as to be confirmed by Rex Legal
  • Expert-level Unity and a completed mobile portfolio are required; the bar is higher than the general game role while the ceiling is lower
  • You must not submit export-controlled, military or defence-related technical data, or material you lack the right to share

About this listing

Posted on the Rex.Zone expert portal on 2 October 2026 and read from the signed-in portal on 29 October 2026. The requirements above are the ad's own; it lists no skills tags. Rex.Zone does not publish payment methods or payout timing, and the listing does not say how pay is adjusted by country. The portal marks applications as open to verified users only, and most roles sit behind an entry exam. See Rex.Zone.
