Business Operations Expert

What you'll do

You take real operational workflows and rebuild them as benchmark tasks that an AI system can be tested on: reporting, process design and workflow management problems with realistic reference files. The listing's examples of the right instinct are having written an SOP, built a QA checklist or trained a team against a standard.

Each task needs grading criteria that two qualified reviewers would apply the same way, and each should reward reading the materials correctly rather than recalling facts. You create or source the supporting files (spreadsheets, system exports, process documentation, operational reports) and flag tasks that are ambiguous or ungradable.

What you need

  • 5+ years of hands-on responsibility in business operations, operations reporting, process design or workflow management, as direct owner rather than supervisory-only
  • Experience creating or applying structured standards: SOPs, QA checklists, process documentation, service level definitions or training assessments
  • Strong Excel and comfort reasoning across several documents at once
  • Strong written and spoken English, B2 minimum and C1 preferred

Nice to have

  • AI or LLM evaluation experience (a plus, not required)

What it pays

micro1 states $45–90/hour, with the snapshot calling it "up to $90/hour equivalent" at about ten hours per task. No per-task fee is published, and the ad does not explain what moves you within the band.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • No prior AI experience is needed; the ad says domain knowledge is what matters
  • Fully remote with no geographic restriction stated
  • Spreadsheet-heavy, document-based work that suits people who already live in Excel and process docs
  • Twenty openings

Less good:

  • The ceiling is "up to $90/hour equivalent", and the ad does not say what decides where in the band you land
  • Roughly ten hours per task is long; designing a gradable task and its reference files is slow, and a task that turns out ungradable may cost you the time
  • Contractor engagement: no benefits, and you handle your own tax
  • The client is not named, and weekly hours and project length are not published

The selection process listed is screening questions, an AI interview and onboarding; unlike some sibling listings, this one does not mention a profile review step.
