Procurement & Vendor Management Expert
What you'll do
You design tasks, not answers. Each task is a realistic multi-step procurement problem, such as comparing supplier bids, scoring a vendor against a risk framework or reading a contract and SLA, built so an AI system can be tested on it and a reviewer can grade the result. You also write the grading criteria, and the bar is that two qualified reviewers reach the same verdict on the same output.
Tasks have to need judgment rather than lookup, so the right answer depends on reading the supplied materials correctly. You create or source those materials yourself: RFP responses, pricing schedules, contracts, SLAs and risk assessments. When a task turns out ambiguous or ungradable, the ad asks you to flag it rather than submit it.
What you need
- 5+ years of hands-on responsibility in procurement, sourcing, supplier assessment or vendor management, as direct owner of the work rather than supervisory-only or adjacent exposure
- Experience creating or applying structured evaluation standards: supplier scorecards, weighted bid criteria, vendor risk frameworks or category strategies
- Comfort working across contracts, spreadsheets and reports at the same time
- Strong written and spoken English, B2 minimum and C1 preferred
Nice to have
- CIPS, CPSM or an equivalent certification (a plus, not required)
- Any AI or LLM evaluation experience (also a plus, not required)
What it pays
micro1's listing states $45–90/hour, and the snapshot describes it as "up to $90/hour equivalent" at about ten hours per task. The ad does not publish a per-task fee or explain how the hourly equivalent is calculated, so treat $45 as the planning figure until an offer says otherwise.
Worth knowing
Good:
- No prior AI experience is needed; the ad says domain knowledge is what matters
- Fully remote with no geographic restriction stated
- Practitioner experience counts for more than credentials; a certification is explicitly optional
- Twenty openings
Less good:
- The ceiling is "up to $90/hour equivalent", and the ad does not say what decides where in the band you land
- Roughly ten hours per task is long; designing a gradable task and its reference files is slow, and a task that turns out ungradable may cost you the time
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, and you handle your own tax
- The client is not named, and weekly hours and project length are not published
The selection steps are screening questions, a role-specific AI interview, profile review and onboarding. The ad says the interview is how your expertise reaches the client, so budget time for it.
