What you'll do

Employment law is full of questions where the answer depends on a fact the client did not mention: the headcount, the state, whether the worker is really a contractor, what the handbook said. That is the skill this project is buying. You work through employment law scenarios, identify the issues and the risk to each side, and apply your judgment to reach a position.

You then review AI-generated legal analyses, arguments and documents on similar problems, flag legal errors, missing information and gaps in reasoning, and write structured feedback and corrections that the customer uses to retrain the model. Think of it as supervising a confident first-year associate who never asks a follow-up question.

The work is remote contractor work. Weekly hours and project length are not stated.

Who fits

  • A J.D. from a US law school
  • An active bar license in at least one US state or the District of Columbia
  • More than three years of substantive legal practice, preferably in employment or labor law
  • Strong legal reasoning, issue-spotting and document review
  • Clear written English and close attention to detail

Plaintiff-side, defence-side and in-house employment experience all fit the description; the ad does not prefer one.

What it pays

$100–170/hour, micro1's published band. The ad does not explain what places you in the band or whether pay is hourly or per task.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • 50 openings, flagged high demand
  • Three years of practice is enough to qualify
  • Employment work generalises well across states, so a single-state practice still has plenty to contribute
  • Review-only work, with no drafting of long documents from scratch

Less good:

  • US residence and an active US license are both required
  • No hours, project length or compensation structure published
  • Contractor engagement: no benefits, no notice period, your own tax to manage
  • The customer and product are not named; check your firm's outside-work rules before applying
