Arabic Team Lead

SuperAnnotate: pay and who it accepts · Posted Revised

What you'll do

The Team Lead title covers what SME elsewhere calls a Quality Assurance Lead. You oversee the Arabic trainers and QAs: spot-checking their items, giving feedback in direct messages, answering questions on Discord and escalating recurring problems. Questions you handle are specific to Arabic: grammar and diacritics, right-to-left formatting, register, dialect inconsistency, translation fidelity and terminology.

You also write and maintain the project documentation (style guides, FAQs, trackers, honeypots), run onboarding and training calls, and contact contributors who are inactive.

Who fits

  • A bachelor's or master's in Arabic, linguistics, translation, communications, journalism, English, education or QA
  • Native or near-native Arabic with strong reading and writing, and a solid command of English for guidelines and feedback
  • Three or more years in Arabic writing, editing, translation, localisation, content QA, AI training or annotation
  • Command of Arabic grammar, spelling, punctuation, diacritics, RTL formatting, register and regional variation
  • Experience leading remote teams is strongly preferred

Experience with LLM prompt and response evaluation or rubric-based QA is a strong plus.

The role is open to applicants in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

What it pays

SME's listing gives a range of $0 to $40 an hour. The $0 floor is as published and tells you nothing about typical pay; the useful number is the $40 ceiling. That is more than double the Arabic Language Expert ceiling of $15 on the same board. The listing does not state how or when you are paid; the company page covers SME's Deel payout cycle.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • A real step up from the expert seat in both ceiling and responsibility
  • Native-language leadership role with clear duties
  • Builds documentation and training experience

Less good:

  • A published floor of $0 gives no guide to actual pay
  • Selection includes an AI interview, a domain task and a recruiter interview
  • Only Egypt and Saudi Arabia are accepted

About this listing

Posted on SME Careers (sme.careers), where SuperAnnotate hires subject matter experts, and read on 27 October 2026. The board gives no posting date. The duties, requirements and pay are SME's own text; the comparisons and commentary are ours. The interview, Deel contract, bootcamp and time tracking are covered on the company page rather than repeated here. The ad says selection involves an AI interview, a domain-specific task and an interview with a recruiter. The ad says there is no immediate project for this role; qualified applicants are among the first contacted when relevant work opens, which also gives access to future projects in the expert network.
