C Engineer

What you'll do

You judge whether a model really understands C. Typical material is AI-written code, low-level design and technical explanation, where the mistakes that matter are in pointer handling, memory management, undefined behavior, concurrency and performance. You fact-check, write correct reference implementations with the reasoning laid out, and rank several model responses against each other.

Because C errors tend to be subtle (code that compiles and still corrupts memory), the ad leans on a methodical reviewer who can spot problems in low-level code that a quick read would miss.

Who fits

• A degree in computer science, electrical or computer engineering, or a close field
• 4+ years of production C for systems, embedded or performance-critical work
• Expert pointers, memory management and low-level debugging, plus operating-system and concurrency background
• Hands-on with compilers, linkers, build systems and debuggers; code review and CI/CD habits
• English at C1 or above
• A plus: earlier AI data training or evaluation of AI-written technical content

The role is open in 17 countries, including the United States, Germany, Brazil and several South and Southeast Asian markets.

What it pays

Good:

• A senior engineering bar with a pay ceiling to match
• Reviewing low-level code is specialised enough that you are not competing with generalist annotators
• Open beyond the US, unlike the lead role

• The ad says there is no immediate project for this role; qualified applicants are among the first contacted when a relevant project opens.
• The responsibilities list is generic boilerplate, so the real task mix is unclear until a project starts
• No hours or project length published
