Catalan Language Expert (Spain)

What you'll do

This listing is built around linguistic quality assurance. You review AI responses in Catalan and English, score them with a consistent error taxonomy (grammar, orthography, punctuation, register), fact-check claims against reliable references, and flag anything unverifiable, misleading or inconsistent. You also keep Catalan locale and style consistent within each project, for example Central versus Valencian conventions and formal versus informal address, and document your decisions in clear English so others can reproduce them.

Who fits

  • 1 to 5 years of Catalan language work (editing, translation, localization, linguistic QA or content review)
  • Near-native written Catalan at C2 level, with normative grammar and orthography
  • A Bachelor's degree in linguistics, translation and interpreting, Catalan philology or journalism, or equivalent practical experience
  • English at C1 or above
  • The ability to verify claims from reputable sources and record evidence briefly
  • Preferred: AI training or evaluation experience

Applicants must be in Spain. The ad describes a five-step process: CV, a Catalan screening, a short fact-checking and QA exercise, a contractor agreement with identity and payment setup, then paid onboarding.

What it pays

The board shows up to $26 an hour. The ad text itself states $22.23 to $31.12 an hour depending on skills, performance and task complexity, so the two figures do not match; check the live listing before relying on either. The board labels the role full time, while the text describes hourly contract work with flexible hours and project-dependent task availability. The ad does not state a payment method or schedule; SME's general terms are on the SuperAnnotate company page.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • A detailed, published process and a paid onboarding step
  • A lower experience bar (1 to 5 years) than the other Catalan expert ad
  • Flexible scheduling

Less good:

  • The conflicting pay figures and the full-time label make the real terms unclear
  • Task availability varies by project
  • Spain only
