Chemical Engineer Quality Assurance Lead (QAL)

What you'll do

You oversee quality on chemical engineering projects. Your own review covers AI explanations and process calculations, mass and energy balances, reaction engineering, separations reasoning and process-control answers, checked for correctness, units and clarity. You then pass what you find down to the people doing the day-to-day grading.

That second half is the job: updating trainers on Discord when guidelines change, answering questions about assumptions, formulas and process constraints, running onboarding calls, nudging contributors who have gone quiet, and maintaining the style guides, trackers and calibration tasks. The ad specifically asks you to flag unsafe or overconfident recommendations involving chemicals, reactions, pressure systems, thermal hazards and worker safety.

Who fits

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemical, process, biochemical, materials or petroleum engineering or a close field
• 3+ years in chemical or process engineering, plant operations, process design, R&D, manufacturing or process safety
• Strong fundamentals in balances, thermodynamics, transport, reaction engineering and process design
• Preferred: Aspen Plus or HYSYS, MATLAB or Python, P&IDs, and experience supporting remote teams
