C++ Engineer
What you'll do
You review how well AI models handle modern C++. The material is generated C++ code, systems designs and technical explanations, and the faults you hunt are in logic, memory handling, concurrency and performance. You fact-check, write high-quality reference implementations with explained reasoning, and rank multiple model responses on correctness.
Compared with the C Engineer ad, this one is explicitly about modern C++ (C++11 and later): templates, move semantics, smart pointers and the STL. Reviewing for coding standards around safety, performance and maintainability is a named requirement.
Who fits
- A degree in computer science, electrical or computer engineering, or a close technical field
- 4+ years of production C++ for systems, performance-critical or large-scale applications
- Expert modern C++, and a systems background (concurrency, operating systems, low-level optimisation, memory management)
- Hands-on with build systems, compilers, debuggers and profiling tools; experience doing detailed C++ code reviews
- English at C1 or above, written and spoken
- A plus: earlier AI data training or evaluating AI-written technical content
Applicants are accepted from 17 countries, including the United States, Germany, Brazil and several South and Southeast Asian markets.
What it pays
SME lists up to $65 an hour, no floor stated, matching the C and C# engineer ceilings. The US-only C++ Team Lead role goes to $75. The ad does not state a payment method or schedule; SME's general terms are on the SuperAnnotate company page.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Skills such as low-latency work and profiling are named directly in the skill tags
- A senior-grade ceiling for review rather than build work
- Open outside the US
Less good:
- The ad says there is no immediate project for this role; qualified applicants are among the first contacted when a relevant project opens.
- Four years' experience plus C1 English is a high bar for a ceiling with no stated floor
- No hours or project length published
