C++ Team Lead
What you'll do
You supervise the C++ review pipeline. Your own checks cover AI-generated C++ code, debugging answers, algorithmic solutions, tests and performance advice, looking at compile-time validity, runtime behavior, memory safety and maintainability. Contributors bring you questions on templates, STL usage, concurrency and complexity, and you turn recurring mistakes into guideline updates.
The people side includes Discord announcements, DMs to inactive contributors, onboarding calls and upkeep of the C++ style guide, trackers, FAQs, honeypots and calibration tasks. The ad also asks you to flag non-compilable, inefficient or non-production-ready recommendations.
Who fits
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, software or computer engineering, or equivalent software engineering experience
- 3+ years in C++ development, systems programming, performance or embedded work, backend engineering, code review or technical mentoring
- Strong grasp of RAII, smart pointers, templates, STL, object lifetime, move semantics and concurrency
- Preferred: CMake, GCC or Clang, sanitizers, GoogleTest or Catch2, and experience leading remote teams
The selection process listed on the ad is an AI interview, a domain-specific task and an interview with a recruiter. Only United States applicants are listed.
What it pays
SME lists up to $75 an hour, no floor, $10 above the C++ Engineer ceiling. The ad does not state a payment method or schedule; SME's general terms are on the SuperAnnotate company page.
Worth knowing
Good:
- The same ceiling as the C and C# team lead roles, with a lower experience bar than the C++ engineer ad (3+ years against 4+)
- Your calls shape the standard for a whole project's C++ data
- Useful for building technical-lead credentials
Less good:
- The ad says there is no immediate project for this role; qualified applicants are among the first contacted when a relevant project opens.
- US only
- Less time writing code, more time on trackers, messages and calls
