Electrical Engineer Quality Assurance Lead (QAL)

What you'll do

This lead role sits above the individual electrical engineer reviewers. You spot-check their work and the trainers' work against the project rubric: circuit analysis, calculations, unit consistency, standards references, design recommendations and troubleshooting steps. The ad lists hallucinated standards and missing units alongside the more obvious errors, and gives a dedicated safety duty: flag unsafe, misleading or overconfident advice, especially around electrical installations, equipment operation, high voltage and batteries.

You also run the team around the review: feedback through direct messages, Discord updates on guideline changes, answers on assumptions and safety, chasing inactive contributors, onboarding calls, and the style guides, FAQs, honeypots and calibration tasks.

Who fits

  • A bachelor's or master's in electrical, electronics, computer, power or telecommunications engineering, or a close field
  • 3+ years in electrical engineering, electronics, power systems, embedded, signal processing, controls or technical review
  • Knowledge of circuits, analogue and digital electronics, electromagnetics, power and control systems, communications and electrical safety
  • Strong English for written technical feedback

LTspice, MATLAB, Simulink, Python, Verilog/VHDL or PCB tools are preferred, as is experience leading remote reviewer teams. Open to US applicants only. The ad describes the selection process as an AI interview, a domain-specific task and an interview with a recruiter.

What it pays

The ad states pay of up to $105 an hour. It gives no floor and does not say what decides where in that range an individual lands. That is $5 above the individual Electrical Engineer listing, which asks for 4+ years against this role's 3+ plus leadership duties. The ad does not describe payment terms; SuperAnnotate's company page covers the Deel contract, paid bootcamp and monitoring software that apply across its hourly projects.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • The highest stated ceiling among the listings in this batch
  • Lower years-of-experience bar (3+) than the individual role
  • Remote and hourly

Less good:

  • US only, against 17 countries for the individual role
  • Coordination, documentation and onboarding take time away from engineering review
  • The ad gives no hours, project length or start date
