Estonian Language Expert
What you'll do
You review Estonian text from AI models and write what it should have said. The ad is specific about the grammar that trips models up: case forms, compound words, verb forms, word order and, interestingly, English- or Russian-influenced phrasing that reads wrong to a native ear. You mark errors, explain the correction, rate and compare several answers, and write rewrites and gold answers across general knowledge, customer support, education, conversation, translation and localisation.
Register is part of the brief: formal, neutral, conversational, professional, educational and public-facing Estonian each have different expectations. The ad also lists hallucinated claims and culturally inappropriate wording as things to catch.
Who fits
- A degree in linguistics, Estonian language or literature, English, communications, journalism or translation, or equivalent professional experience
- Native or near-native Estonian, with strong reading and writing
- English at C1 or above for guidelines and feedback
- 3+ years in writing, editing, localisation, translation, content QA, journalism or education
- Careful about incorrect case forms, unnatural compounds and subtle meaning shifts
Prior AI training, translation QA or rubric-based evaluation is strongly preferred. Applicants must be in Estonia. The board gives no experience level, so we read the 3+ year requirement as a junior bar.
What it pays
Up to $35 an hour per the ad, with no floor. SME lists a separate Estonian Team Lead role at up to $40 an hour. The ad does not describe payment terms; SuperAnnotate's company page covers the Deel contract, paid bootcamp and monitoring software that apply across its hourly projects.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Estonian is a small language, so qualified reviewers are scarce and the work is specialised
- Detailed, language-specific brief rather than generic review
- Remote and hourly
Less good:
- A small market may mean limited task volume
- Estonia-only residence requirement
- No hours, project length or start date published
