Filipino (Tagalog) Language Expert
What you'll do
You judge how well AI models write Filipino and Tagalog and supply better versions. The review covers fluency, grammar, spelling, tone and cultural fit, plus mistranslation, formal versus informal register, polite forms and what the ad calls code-switching control: whether a model handles Taglish sensibly instead of mixing languages at random. You rank several responses, write rewrites and gold answers across general knowledge, customer support, education and conversational writing, and flag hallucinated claims, bias and policy-risk wording.
Choosing the right register for the audience is central. The ad expects you to move between formal Filipino, polite forms, conversational Tagalog and Taglish according to what the project needs.
Who fits
- A degree in linguistics, Filipino or English literature, communications, journalism or translation, or equivalent professional experience
- Native or near-native Filipino/Tagalog, reading and writing
- English at C1 or above
- 3+ years in writing, editing, localisation, translation, content QA, journalism or education
- Able to explain why something is wrong and how to fix it
AI training, translation QA or rubric-based evaluation is strongly preferred. Applicants must be in the Philippines. The ad says there is no immediate project for this role; qualified candidates are among the first contacted when a relevant one opens, so this is a talent-pool listing rather than a seat with guaranteed work.
What it pays
Up to $20 an hour per the ad, no floor. SME lists a Filipino / Tagalog Team Lead at up to $25 an hour. The ad does not describe payment terms; SuperAnnotate's company page covers the Deel contract, paid bootcamp and monitoring software that apply across its hourly projects.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Taglish handling is explicitly in scope, which reflects how people actually write
- Remote and hourly
- Access to future projects through the expert network
Less good:
- Lower ceiling than most other language roles in this batch
- Talent-pool listing with no immediate project
- Philippines-only residence requirement
