Filipino / Tagalog Team Lead
What you'll do
You supervise Filipino and Tagalog quality across the contributors on a project. You spot-check items, give feedback by direct message, escalate repeat problems, and answer trainer questions on wording, tone, register, translation fidelity, cultural context and Taglish usage. You post updates on Discord, maintain the style guide, FAQs, trackers and honeypots, and run onboarding and training calls.
The rubric review looks for mistranslation, literal phrasing, unnatural tone, incorrect code-switching, hallucinated claims, ambiguity and inconsistent terminology. You switch between formal Filipino, conversational Tagalog and Taglish as the project needs, keeping everyone to the same style.
Who fits
- A bachelor's or master's in Filipino, Tagalog, linguistics, translation, communications, journalism, English, education or QA
- Native or near-native Filipino/Tagalog and strong English
- 3+ years in Filipino/Tagalog writing, editing, translation, localisation, content QA, AI training or annotation
- Comfort with Discord, Google Sheets and Docs and fast-moving remote work
Leading remote reviewer teams is strongly preferred; LLM evaluation is a plus. Unusually, the listing is open to applicants in Saudi Arabia, the Philippines and the US, which suits Filipino speakers living abroad. The ad describes the selection process as an AI interview, a domain-specific task and an interview with a recruiter. The ad says there is no immediate project for this role; qualified candidates are among the first contacted when a relevant one opens, so this is a talent-pool listing rather than a seat with guaranteed work.
What it pays
Up to $25 an hour per the ad, no floor, $5 above the language expert role. The ad does not describe payment terms; SuperAnnotate's company page covers the Deel contract, paid bootcamp and monitoring software that apply across its hourly projects.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Three accepted countries, including two outside the Philippines
- Pay step up over the expert role
- Remote and hourly
Less good:
- Talent-pool listing with no immediate project
- Modest ceiling compared with team lead roles in technical fields
- Coordination duties mean less time on language work itself
