Go Team Lead

What you'll do

You lead quality on Go projects. You check AI-written Go for non-compilable code, goroutine leaks, race conditions, poor error handling, hallucinated APIs and non-production-ready advice, and you review the work of trainers and QAs against rubrics. You answer contributors' questions on context, interfaces, testing and performance, and you maintain Go style guides, calibration tasks and honeypots.

Compared with the Go Engineer role, where you grade and write code, this one adds coordination: Discord updates, onboarding calls and chasing inactive contributors.

Who fits

  • Bachelor's or Master's in computer science, software engineering or IT, or equivalent professional experience
  • 3+ years in Go development, backend engineering, cloud services, distributed systems, DevOps tooling, code review or technical mentoring
  • Strong Go fundamentals: goroutines, channels, interfaces, pointers, error handling, context, modules and testing
  • Preferred familiarity with go test, gofmt, go vet, the race detector, gRPC, Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strongly preferred: experience leading remote teams; LLM evaluation or code QA is a plus

What it pays

SME Careers lists up to $70 an hour, with no floor. That is $10 above the Go Engineer listing, for a role with coordination duties. The ad does not say how payment is made or how often; the hiring process and payout terms SME publishes are covered on the SuperAnnotate page.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Higher band than the engineer role, and 3+ years is a lower bar than some senior listings
  • Real technical content: concurrency safety, compile validity, idiom
  • The ad states the selection steps: AI interview, domain task, recruiter interview

Less good:

  • United States only
  • The ad says there is no immediate project
  • Lead duties (calls, DMs, trackers) are not obviously billable as review time

About this listing

Listed on SME Careers, the site where SuperAnnotate hires subject matter experts, and read from its jobs board on 27 October 2026. The board gives no posting date, so we cannot say how long it has been up. Pay, duties and requirements are SME's own text; the commentary is ours. See SuperAnnotate.
