Icelandic Language Expert
What you'll do
Icelandic is a small language with heavy grammar, and models make visible mistakes in it: wrong cases, broken declensions, calques from English. You evaluate AI output for fluency, accuracy and cultural fit, then write rewrites and model answers. Prompts cover general knowledge, customer support, education and conversational writing. You rank competing answers and flag hallucinated or unsafe content.
Who fits
- Native or near-native Icelandic, reading and writing
- Degree in linguistics, Icelandic or English literature, communications, journalism or translation, or equivalent professional experience
- 3+ years in writing, editing, localization, translation, content QA, journalism or education
- Minimum C1 English
- Solid command of cases, declensions and agreement
What it pays
The ad states up to $55 an hour, hourly. That is well above the Hindi, Hungarian and Indonesian expert ceilings; the ad does not say why. The listing does not state payment terms; how SuperAnnotate pays (Deel contracts, weekly cycle) is on the company page.
Worth knowing
Good:
- High ceiling for language review work
- Equivalent experience can substitute for the degree
- Remote and hourly
Less good:
- Open to Iceland-based applicants only
- No immediate project, so work comes when a project opens
- Up to $55 an hour is a ceiling
About this listing
The ad says there is no immediate project: qualifying puts you on the list SME contacts first when work arrives, so a successful application may not mean paid work straight away. The board gives no posting date and we have not seen the project guidelines. The hiring process and time-tracking rules are on the company page and not repeated here. See SuperAnnotate.
