Icelandic Team Lead
What you'll do
The lead job sits above the Icelandic language expert role. You spot-check what trainers and QAs produce, give feedback in direct messages, and escalate recurring problems. Icelandic issues the ad names include case usage, word formation and awkward calques from English. You maintain the style guide and FAQ, run onboarding calls and follow up with inactive contributors.
Who fits
- Native or near-native Icelandic, strong reading and writing
- Degree in Icelandic, linguistics, translation, communications, journalism, English, education or QA, or related
- 3+ years of Icelandic writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training or annotation
- Strong English for guidelines and feedback
- Comfort with Discord, Sheets, Docs and trackers
What it pays
The ad states up to $60 an hour, hourly, which is $5 above the Icelandic language expert ceiling of $55. The listing does not state payment terms; how SuperAnnotate pays (Deel contracts, weekly cycle) is on the company page.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Highest language-role ceiling in this batch
- Documentation and training experience builds a lead profile
- Remote
Less good:
- Open to Iceland-based applicants only
- No immediate project
- People-management duties, including chasing inactive contributors
About this listing
The ad describes a three-step selection: an AI interview, a domain task, and a recruiter interview. The ad says there is no immediate project: qualifying puts you on the list SME contacts first when work arrives, so a successful application may not mean paid work straight away. The board gives no posting date and we have not seen the project guidelines. The hiring process and time-tracking rules are on the company page and not repeated here. See SuperAnnotate.
