Malayalam Team Lead

What you'll do

This is the supervisory version of the Malayalam language expert job. Instead of mainly producing and rating content, you watch the quality of the people who do. You spot-check Malayalam items, give feedback in direct messages, post guideline changes to trainers and QAs on Discord, and answer questions about wording, register, translation fidelity and Kerala versus diaspora usage. You also chase contributors who have gone quiet, write the style guides, FAQs and trackers, and run onboarding calls. The ad describes the selection as an AI interview, a domain-specific task and a recruiter interview.

Who fits

• Native or near-native Malayalam with strong reading and writing
• A bachelor's or master's degree in Malayalam, linguistics, translation, communications, journalism, English, education, quality assurance or a related field
• 3+ years in Malayalam writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, education or annotation
• Strong English for guidelines and feedback
• Comfort with Discord, Google Sheets and Docs, trackers and dashboards

Experience leading or supporting remote teams is strongly preferred, and LLM or rubric-based QA experience is a plus.

What it pays

The ad says up to $30 an hour, $10 above the Malayalam Language Expert role. As elsewhere, that is a ceiling rather than a promise, and the ad gives no typical rate. Payment terms and the hiring process are covered on the company page.
