SQL Team Lead

What you'll do

You run quality for SQL and database AI training projects. You review AI-generated queries, schema reasoning and optimization advice for incorrect joins, aggregation errors, duplicate counting, injection risks and dialect mismatches, and you coach trainers and QAs through Discord. You also maintain documentation, honeypots and calibration material and run onboarding calls.

Who fits

• 3+ years using SQL for analytics, backend, database engineering, BI, warehousing or technical review
• Command of joins, CTEs, window functions, indexes, transactions and normalization
• A Bachelor's or Master's in a technical field, or equivalent experience
• Preferred: PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, BigQuery, Snowflake and query plans
• Preferred: leading remote teams

What it pays

The ad lists up to $70 an hour and no minimum, $20 more than the SQL Engineer listing, which asks for more years but is open to 17 countries. The premium here comes with a United States-only restriction. Payment method and timing are not set out in the listing; the SuperAnnotate company page covers the contracting setup.

Worth knowing

Good:

• Highest ceiling among the SQL roles
• Lower experience bar (3+ years) than the engineer role
• Remote

Less good:

• The ad states there is no immediate project for this role; qualified people are first in line when a relevant project opens, and the role also gives access to the wider expert network. Expect a wait rather than a start date.
• The ad lists three selection steps: an AI interview, a domain-specific task and an interview with a recruiter.
• United States only

About this listing

Requirements and the pay ceiling are from the ad; the comparisons with sibling listings are ours. The hiring process (recorded AI interview, Deel contracting, paid bootcamp) is covered on the company page. See SuperAnnotate.
