Swift Engineer
What you'll do
You read AI-written Swift and iOS answers and judge them the way a code reviewer would: is the logic right, is memory handled correctly, does the UI code do what the prompt asked. You also write your own reference solutions and explanations, and you rank several AI responses against each other on correctness and quality of reasoning.
The three duties the ad lists are writing prompts and gold responses, ranking AI output, and testing models for errors and bias. The work is remote and paid by the hour. The ad says there is no immediate project for this role. If you qualify you are placed among the first experts contacted when a relevant project opens, so this is a waiting list for future work, not a start date.
What you need
- 2+ years of hands-on Swift and iOS development, including production apps you shipped or maintained
- Solid grasp of Swift fundamentals, memory management and ARC
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field
- The ability to judge code for correctness, maintainability, performance and UI logic
- Significant experience using LLMs for coding, debugging and code review
- Written English at C1 or above
Nice to have
- SwiftUI, UIKit and Combine in MVVM-style architectures (highly preferred)
- Merged pull requests in Swift or iOS open-source projects, or competitive programming
- Earlier AI data training or model evaluation work
Where it is open
The ad lists 17 accepted countries: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brazil, Cambodia, Germany, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the Philippines, the United States, Timor-Leste and Vietnam. Applicants outside those countries are not eligible for this listing.
What it pays
SME Careers lists this role at up to $55 an hour. That is a ceiling, not a rate: the ad does not say what a typical contractor earns, or how hours are allocated. It does not state payment terms either; SuperAnnotate's general process (Deel contracts, a paid bootcamp, tracked hourly work) is covered on the company page. Swift sits mid-table among the engineering roles in this batch: below the $60 listed for TypeScript Engineer and above every language role.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Uses real iOS engineering judgment rather than generic annotation skills
- Remote and hourly, with the ceiling stated up front
- Open in 17 countries across South and Southeast Asia, Brazil, Germany and the US
- The LLM-assisted-coding requirement means the job expects you to work with AI tools, not avoid them
Less good:
- No project is open, so there may be a wait, or no work, after you clear screening
- The $55 is a ceiling, not a guaranteed rate; where you land in the range is not published
- A degree in computer science is listed as a minimum, with no stated alternative
- Hourly work on SME projects is tracked with monitoring software, per the company page
About this listing
Read from the SME Careers jobs board on 27 October 2026. The board gives no posting date, so we cannot say how long the role has been open. The interview, onboarding and time-tracking process is on the company page rather than repeated here. See SuperAnnotate.
