Vietnamese Language Expert
What you'll do
This Vietnamese role leans toward professional localization rather than general language skill. You review AI responses and write language content, applying MQM and LQA ideas (severity, category and root cause) to make consistent quality decisions, and checking terminology, tone and cultural nuance.
The ad also expects CAT tool fluency (translation memory, termbases, automated checks) and rigorous fact-checking of units, names, dates and references in localized text. The ad says there is no immediate project for this role. If you qualify you are placed among the first experts contacted when a relevant project opens, so this is a waiting list for future work, not a start date.
What you need
- A bachelor's degree or higher in Vietnamese Translation, Linguistics, Localization, Communications or a related field
- Native or near-native Vietnamese with command of Vietnam locale conventions
- English at C1 or above, reading and writing
- 5+ years of professional localization or translation experience
- Ability to apply MQM and LQA concepts
- Proficiency with CAT tools and QA workflows
Nice to have
- Multilingual localization experience (strongly preferred)
- Earlier AI data training, annotation or evaluation
Where it is open
Applicants must be in Vietnam.
What it pays
SME Careers lists this role at up to $20 an hour. That is a ceiling, not a rate: the ad does not say what a typical contractor earns, or how hours are allocated. It does not state payment terms either; SuperAnnotate's general process (Deel contracts, a paid bootcamp, tracked hourly work) is covered on the company page. Up to $20 is a modest ceiling for a 5+ year bar, and the Vietnamese Team Lead listing goes up to $25 with a 3+ year bar.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Rewards professional localization and QA skills that are rarely valued in annotation work
- Standard frameworks (MQM, LQA) give clear criteria
- Remote and hourly
Less good:
- No project is open yet
- The experience bar is higher than the pay suggests
- Vietnam-only eligibility
- Up to $20 is a ceiling
About this listing
Read from the SME Careers jobs board on 27 October 2026. The board gives no posting date, so we cannot say how long the role has been open. The interview, onboarding and time-tracking process is on the company page rather than repeated here. See SuperAnnotate.
