Vietnamese Team Lead
What you'll do
The Vietnamese team lead (QAL) oversees quality across Vietnamese training projects. You spot-check items, give feedback, escalate recurring issues and answer questions on wording, register, translation fidelity and diacritics.
Vietnamese details in the ad: tone markers, diacritics and Northern, Central and Southern usage, which you keep consistent with project guidelines. You also run onboarding, post Discord updates, maintain documentation and nudge inactive contributors. The ad says selection involves an AI interview, a domain-specific task and an interview with a recruiter. The ad says there is no immediate project for this role. If you qualify you are placed among the first experts contacted when a relevant project opens, so this is a waiting list for future work, not a start date.
What you need
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Vietnamese, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, QA or a related field
- Native or near-native Vietnamese with strong reading and writing
- Good English for guidelines and feedback
- 3+ years in Vietnamese writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training or annotation
- Strong grasp of grammar, tone markers, diacritics and register
- Comfort with regional differences and with Discord, Sheets, Docs and trackers
Nice to have
- Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers or QAs
- AI training, annotation or rubric-based LLM QA experience
Where it is open
Applicants must be in Cambodia, the United States or Vietnam.
What it pays
SME Careers lists this role at up to $25 an hour. That is a ceiling, not a rate: the ad does not say what a typical contractor earns, or how hours are allocated. It does not state payment terms either; SuperAnnotate's general process (Deel contracts, a paid bootcamp, tracked hourly work) is covered on the company page. The Vietnamese Language Expert listing caps at $20 and asks for 5+ years, so the lead role pays more at the ceiling for a lower experience bar.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Lower experience bar than the expert role, with a higher ceiling
- Open to Vietnamese speakers in the US
- Leadership and documentation experience
Less good:
- No project is open yet
- Three-stage selection
- Management chores such as chasing inactive contributors
- The ceiling is not a guaranteed rate
About this listing
Read from the SME Careers jobs board on 27 October 2026. The board gives no posting date, so we cannot say how long the role has been open. The interview, onboarding and time-tracking process is on the company page rather than repeated here. See SuperAnnotate.
