What you'll do
You use structured finance experience to build and check legal AI. The ad lists: reviewing and annotating contracts and transaction documents for asset-backed securities, mortgage-backed securities and collateralized debt obligations, drafting or evaluating sample clauses and frameworks, giving feedback on hypothetical scenarios and AI-generated content, and explaining terminology, regulatory requirements and common structures. You also contribute to training datasets and share views on market practice and recent regulatory change.
Collaboration is asynchronous with platform coordinators and other specialists. The ad does not state weekly hours.
What you need
- A J.D. or international equivalent, with active admission in at least one jurisdiction
- Typically 5 or more years advising on structured finance transactions, including drafting and negotiating documents
- Thorough knowledge of securities law and market regulation
- Experience reviewing prospectuses, term sheets and offering memoranda
- Strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to work independently
What it pays
micro1's listing states $140–400 per hour. The range is wide, and the ad does not explain how a rate is set within it or whether pay is hourly or per task. Ask before you plan around the upper end.
Worth knowing
Good:
- An international equivalent of the J.D. is accepted
- Top-of-board band, remote and asynchronous
- Work matches practice: documents, clauses, market commentary
Less good:
- Only five openings, in a narrow specialism
- The band is too wide to forecast income
- No duration or screening steps are stated
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, and you manage your own tax
