Egocentric Video Data Collector: Australia (Insta360 X5 Required)

Rex.Zone: pay and who it accepts · Posted

What you'll do

You wear an Insta360 X5 on your head and record continuous first-person video, about 10 minutes at a time, while you go about normal life in Australia. The ad lists cooking, cleaning, laundry, working or studying, shopping and errands, commuting and walking, gardening, drawing or playing music, and pet care as typical activities. It is explicitly not acting and not scripted: the aim is realistic footage from the wearer's own point of view, the kind of data used to train AI that has to understand daily human activity.

Australia sits in the upper tier of this project at $110/hour, level with New Zealand and just under Singapore. You wear an Insta360 X5 on your head and capture about 10 minutes at a time of whatever you would be doing anyway, from cooking to gardening to errands.

You also log basic information per recording (the activity and the setting), follow the camera setup instructions, record in eligible home, outdoor and sometimes commercial settings, and complete training and sample recordings before full production starts. The work is flexible and project-based.

What you need

  • Residence in Australia; the ad is limited to it
  • Your own Insta360 X5 (the ad calls it required)
  • Willingness to be recorded going about everyday routines and to follow the project's privacy, consent and data collection rules
  • Time to complete training and sample recordings first

What it pays

The ad states $110/hour, a single figure. New Zealand carries the same rate; Singapore is higher at $120, Canada and the United Kingdom lower at $100 and $95, and South Africa lowest at $40. The ad does not say how the country rates were set, or in which currency payment is made.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Joint second-highest rate across the six country versions
  • The ad's list of typical activities includes outdoor ones such as gardening, walking and spending time outside

Less good:

  • The X5 is mandatory and the listing does not say whether it is provided
  • Training and sample recordings must be completed before full production begins
  • Recording around other people in a shared home means you need their consent to meet the ad's privacy rules

About this listing

Posted on Rex.Zone's portal and read there on 29 October 2026. The activity list, camera requirement and rate are Rex.Zone's own text; the comparison with the other country versions is ours. Applications on the portal are open to verified users only and most roles ask for an entry exam; the company page explains how that works. See Rex.Zone.
