Egocentric Video Data Collector: United Kingdom (Insta360 X5 Required)

Rex.Zone: pay and who it accepts · Posted

What you'll do

You wear an Insta360 X5 on your head and record continuous first-person video, about 10 minutes at a time, while you go about normal life in United Kingdom. The ad lists cooking, cleaning, laundry, working or studying, shopping and errands, commuting and walking, gardening, drawing or playing music, and pet care as typical activities. It is explicitly not acting and not scripted: the aim is realistic footage from the wearer's own point of view, the kind of data used to train AI that has to understand daily human activity.

If you live in the United Kingdom, this is the $95/hour version of Rex.Zone's head-mounted video collection job, the second lowest of the six country rates. The task is the same everywhere: record roughly 10-minute continuous first-person clips of normal activities with an Insta360 X5.

You also log basic information per recording (the activity and the setting), follow the camera setup instructions, record in eligible home, outdoor and sometimes commercial settings, and complete training and sample recordings before full production starts. The work is flexible and project-based.

What you need

  • Residence in United Kingdom; the ad is limited to it
  • Your own Insta360 X5 (the ad calls it required)
  • Willingness to be recorded going about everyday routines and to follow the project's privacy, consent and data collection rules
  • Time to complete training and sample recordings first

What it pays

The ad states $95/hour as a single figure. Only South Africa ($40) pays less; Canada pays $100, Australia and New Zealand $110, and Singapore $120. The listing quotes the rate in US dollars and does not say what currency you are paid in or how it is converted, so check before counting on it in pounds.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • A high hourly figure for a task that asks for no qualifications beyond owning the camera
  • Flexible, project-based work with no fixed shifts stated

Less good:

  • A little below the Canadian and Australasian versions for the same footage
  • The camera requirement is an up-front cost, and the ad does not mention reimbursement
  • Recording inside homes and shops raises privacy questions; the ad requires you to follow its consent and data collection rules
