Statistician

Rex.Zone: pay and who it accepts · Posted

What you'll do

You design statistical analysis tasks covering hypothesis testing, regression, experimental design and causal inference, with reference answers. You review AI-generated analyses for whether the method was right, whether the assumptions were checked, whether the result was interpreted properly and whether uncertainty was communicated. You also write rubrics, summarise complex numeric datasets for model-training scenarios, and document the statistical misconceptions that models keep repeating.

Unlike the pure-theory roles in this group, this one asks for working code: you need R or Python for real analysis on real datasets.

Who fits

  • A Master's in statistics or a related field, or 5+ years of professional experience as a statistician or analyst
  • Strong working knowledge of R or Python for statistical analysis
  • Experience with applied analysis on real datasets
  • Excellent written English and independent working to deadlines
  • Preferred: experience training professionals in statistical methods for AI or machine learning, clinical, survey or econometric analysis, and causal inference or Bayesian methods

What it pays

Rex.Zone states USD $60–120 per hour, adjusted by country of residence. The ad does not explain the adjustment, so the top of the range may not apply where you live, and it does not state pay frequency or method.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Open worldwide with no country restriction listed
  • Five years' practical experience can stand in for a Master's degree
  • Rewards applied judgement, such as choosing the right test and communicating uncertainty
  • A wide band that leaves room for experienced analysts

Less good:

  • Country adjustment is unexplained
  • You must be fluent in R or Python, not just able to describe analyses
  • The ad does not state weekly hours or task volume
  • Payment depends on verification and on sanctions, export-control, tax and employment rules, and the contractor agreement covering ownership and licence terms was still marked "to be confirmed by Rex Legal"
