Odia (Oriya) Team Lead

What you'll do

You are the quality owner for Odia projects. You spot-check Odia items and the work of trainers and QAs against project rubrics, give feedback by direct message and escalate anything that keeps recurring. You post guideline changes to the team on Discord, answer questions on wording, register and translation fidelity, and follow up with contributors who have stopped working. You write and maintain the project style guide, trackers, FAQs, examples and honeypots, and run onboarding calls so new people apply the same standard.

Who fits

• Native or near-native Odia with strong reading and writing, plus English good enough for guidelines and clear feedback
• A bachelor's or master's in Odia, linguistics, translation, communications, journalism, English, education or QA
• 3+ years in Odia writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training or annotation
• Experience leading or supporting remote teams is strongly preferred; the tools named are Discord, Google Sheets and Docs and trackers
• AI training or rubric-based LLM QA experience is a strong plus

Open to applicants in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia and Thailand.

What it pays

Up to $30 an hour on an hourly contract, per the ad. That is twice the Odia language expert ceiling of $15, which makes the lead seat the better-paid route into the language.
