Telugu Team Lead with Mathematical Background
What you'll do
As Telugu team lead (QAL) you oversee a pool of trainers and QAs. You spot-check Telugu items, send feedback by direct message, escalate recurring problems and make sure everyone applies the same guidelines when they change.
Questions that land on you are language questions: wording, register, translation fidelity, and the Andhra Pradesh versus Telangana differences the ad names. You also write and maintain the style guide, FAQs, trackers and honeypots, and run onboarding calls. The ad says selection involves an AI interview, a domain-specific task and an interview with a recruiter.
What you need
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Mathematics
- Native or near-native Telugu with strong reading and writing
- Good English for guidelines and feedback
- 3+ years in Telugu writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training or annotation
- Strong grasp of Telugu grammar, tone, register and regional variation
- Comfort with Discord, Google Sheets and Docs, and trackers
Nice to have
- Experience leading remote teams of trainers or QAs
- AI training or rubric-based LLM QA experience
Where it is open
Applicants must be in India, the United States or the United Arab Emirates.
What it pays
SME Careers lists this role at up to $25 an hour. That is a ceiling, not a rate: the ad does not say what a typical contractor earns, or how hours are allocated. It does not state payment terms either; SuperAnnotate's general process (Deel contracts, a paid bootcamp, tracked hourly work) is covered on the company page. The expert listing in the same language caps at $20, so the lead role adds $5 at the ceiling.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Authority over language standards for Telugu on the project
- Same geography as the expert role, including the US and UAE
- Documentation and onboarding work is transferable
Less good:
- Mathematics degree is a hard requirement
- Three screening stages before work
- Management chores such as chasing inactive contributors
- Ceiling of $25, hours not stated
About this listing
Read from the SME Careers jobs board on 27 October 2026. The board gives no posting date, so we cannot say how long the role has been open. The interview, onboarding and time-tracking process is on the company page rather than repeated here. See SuperAnnotate.
